October in Houston
October in Houston is always such a relief.  After months of scorching temperatures and punishing humidity, we are blessed with such beautiful days that its hard to believe they aren't better than someplace else.  Its like we've reached the top of the climb and there is a nice downhill, not too steep, but it goes on for as far as the eye can see and there are no sharp drops, cattle guards or traffic.  Thats October, sometimes, in Houston.  So join us in Galveston to ride with Bujo and Jeri a ride out the beach roads to San Luis and back, and some good BBQ, served up hot off the grill at their newly rebuilt home.  Later in the month, we'll redo the BBQ thing with the Moormans and a ride through the rolling hills around Brenham.  What a great time for cycling in Texas...and what a better way to refuel than some good bbq, carrot cake and Seveer beer.

January, 23, 2011, The Chili Ride

Not that I'd know, but the day seemed perfect for a bike ride.  The food, I'm told, was plentiful and I'll vouch that some of it was delicious.  The group was sympathetic and interested.

March 13, 1999 St. Patrick's Day Parade

A small contingency of intrepid HATS members joined the strip joints, bars, eateries of Richmond Street and others in the frigid cold to celebrate St. Paddy's day.  Things to note:  our clothing (it was bitterly cold!), how small Amanda was, the "clown bikes" (sorry, Hanz...they didn't believe they were Real bikes) and the Out of Towner HATS.
